Maj. Gen. Stephen Purdy has been reassigned from the Department of the Air Force's space acquisition office to become Senior Advisor to Secretary Troy Meink, effective February 20.

Purdy previously served as acting head of the Office of the Assistant Secretary of the Air Force for Space Acquisition and Integration. Tom Ainsworth will fulfill the duties of the Assistant Secretary for Space Acquisition, a position currently vacant.

Brig. Gen. Panzenhagen has been appointed as military deputy at SAF/SQ. Purdy's new role includes advising on the DAF Space Acquisition portfolio and special projects, coinciding with anticipated budget increases for fiscal 2027.
