Maldives President Muizzu Advocates for Local Council Cooperation Ahead of April Elections
Maldives President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu underscored the importance of local council cooperation during the opening of the PNC Office ahead of the April 4 Local Council Elections. He called for the election of PNC councilors aligned with his vision for improved municipal services and highlighted the candidacies of former Defense Minister Moosa Ali Jaleel for Male' Mayor and Mushrif Ali for Addu City Mayor, stressing that collaboration is crucial to avoid project delays and support ongoing development initiatives.

President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu emphasized the need for local cooperation during the opening ceremony of the PNC Office in relation to the Local Council Elections scheduled for April 4. He stated that collaboration from the Mayor of Male' and local councilors is essential for executing future plans, particularly regarding municipal services.
President Muizzu highlighted that, due to legal amendments, three councilors will run for Hulhumale', an area significant to Male'. He urged the election of PNC councilors who can align with his vision for quality municipal services.
Muizzu also mentioned former Defense Minister Moosa Ali Jaleel as the PNC candidate for Male' Mayor and Mushrif Ali for Addu City Mayor, emphasizing the need for councilors who can support ongoing development projects in Addu, Thinadhoo, Fuvahmulah, and Kulhudhuffushi. He reiterated that without council cooperation, project delays would occur, hindering development.
