Mamaroneck Secures $10M for Flood Mitigation Projects from NY State
Mamaroneck, NY has been awarded a $9,976,250 grant from the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation to fund flood mitigation projects, including the removal of two bridges and riverbank reinforcement. The village will contribute 10% of the grant and has previously secured $6.6 million for flood benching, alongside collaborating with the US Army Corps of Engineers on additional initiatives.

Mamaroneck, NY received a $9,976,250 grant from the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation for flood mitigation projects. The funding will support the removal of the Center Avenue and Tompkins Avenue Bridges, riverbank reinforcement, and river realignment near Columbus Park.
The village will match 10% of the grant and has previously secured $6.6 million for flood benching. Additional flood-related initiatives include projects with the US Army Corps of Engineers and updates to stormwater regulations.
