Mammoth Solar and Purdue University Launch Agrivoltaics Initiative for Rural Energy Resilience
Mammoth Solar, in partnership with Purdue University and others, has launched the Midwest Agrivoltaics for Resilient Communities initiative. This initiative, part of the NSF's Regional Resilience Innovation Incubator, aims to address rural energy demands and extreme weather impacts by combining solar energy with agricultural practices. A demonstration zone will be established in Indiana for research activities, and a potential $15 million Phase 2 grant is anticipated for further development.

Mammoth Solar has partnered with Purdue University and other organizations to launch the Midwest Agrivoltaics for Resilient Communities initiative, addressing energy demands and extreme weather in rural Midwest areas. The initiative is part of the NSF's Regional Resilience Innovation Incubator program.
A demonstration zone will be established in Indiana's Pulaski and Starke counties for crop trials and robotics testing. This Phase 1 award allows for a potential $15 million Phase 2 grant for further research. The project aims to enhance rural resilience against climate disruptions by integrating solar energy with agriculture, providing farmers with improved land use and revenue opportunities.
