Manipur Government Plans Security Operations Amid Ongoing Violence
Manipur's government is set to launch operations against extremist groups as violence escalates. The Centre has dispatched additional CRPF units for increased security measures.

The Manipur government is preparing for significant military operations in response to rising violence linked to ethnic conflicts. Following three years of intensified militancy, security forces are revising their strategies, particularly against active Kuki militant groups and valley-based organizations such as the United National Liberation Front and People's Liberation Army.
The Centre has deployed two battalions of the CRPF's CoBRA jungle warfare units to bolster security efforts. Manipur's home minister emphasized the urgency of action, indicating that if negotiations do not yield results, substantial operations will commence within days. This situation poses risks of further instability and complicates the region's security landscape.
