Marina City Council Declares 1.3-Acre Property Surplus for Development
The Marina City Council declared a 1.3-acre property surplus on Feb. 18, allowing for potential development after the demolition of Army barracks. A gas station is under construction, and two hotels are planned. Six dilapidated structures remain. The city will notify developers for a 60-day interest period, followed by a 90-day negotiation with a focus on affordable housing.

On February 18, the Marina City Council declared a 1.3-acre property as surplus, facilitating the demolition of remaining dilapidated structures near Imjin Parkway and Second Avenue. This follows the earlier demolition of Army barracks over five years ago.
Current construction includes a gas station and plans for two hotels. The city must now provide a 60-day notice for housing developers to express interest, followed by a 90-day negotiation period prioritizing proposals with at least 25% affordable units. The final decision on any sale or lease rests with the council.
