McAllister Towing Advances Bridgeport Ferry Terminal Amid Offshore Wind Project Issues
McAllister Towing is advancing plans for a new ferry terminal in Bridgeport, adjacent to the Steelpointe Harbor development, following legislation that exempts it from U.S. Army Corps of Engineers approval. The terminal, designed by AECOM and located on a site purchased for $2.63 million in 2013, aims to expand operations with a fourth boat, independent of the delayed Revolution Wind project, which has the support of Governor Ned Lamont.

McAllister Towing is set to build a new ferry terminal next to the Steelpointe Harbor development in Bridgeport, exempt from U.S. Army Corps of Engineers approval due to legislation advocated by U.S. Rep.
Jim Himes. The new terminal is part of a plan to expand operations and add a fourth boat. AECOM has been hired to design the terminal, which will sit on a site purchased for $2.63 million in 2013.
The company is also working on bringing utilities to the site. The Bridgeport ferry terminal's development is independent of the Revolution Wind project, which faces delays due to federal issues. Governor Ned Lamont supports the wind project, emphasizing its potential to provide energy for over 300,000 homes.
