MDA Expands $151B SHIELD Contract, Adding 340 Awards for AI-Driven Projects
The Missile Defense Agency (MDA) has expanded its SHIELD contract by adding 340 awards, bringing the total to 2,440 since December 2025, with a ceiling of $151 billion. The contract focuses on AI-driven projects and agile processes, with key awards including a $70 million license for Chariot Software and a $45.6 million contract for Vita Inclinata Technologies. Work under the contract is expected to continue through December 2035.

The Missile Defense Agency (MDA) has announced 340 additional awards under the SHIELD contract, increasing the total to 2,440 awards since December 2025. The contract has a ceiling of $151 billion and allows for rapid competition of orders across various defense projects in the U.S.
Performance will leverage artificial intelligence, digital engineering, and agile processes, with work expected to continue through December 2035. Key awarded contracts include a $70 million license purchase for Chariot Software by Striveworks Inc. and a $45.6 million contract for Vita Inclinata Technologies for rescue system components. Other significant awards include contracts for facility engineering services, irrigation construction, and support for unmanned aerial systems.
