MetTel Deploys POTS Transformation to Replace Copper Landlines; Leidos Secures $454.9M Contract for Air Force Cloud One
MetTel is deploying its POTS Transformation platform to replace aging copper landlines nationwide, targeting public and private sectors. The technology, based on DataRemote's POTS in a Box, aims to provide a cost-effective alternative to traditional systems.
The U.S. Postal Service has already installed over 17,000 units. MetTel secured a $54 million contract with the Department of Veterans Affairs to modernize about 15,000 landlines at 1,875 sites, reducing communication costs by up to 30%.
Meanwhile, Leidos has obtained a $454.9 million contract to enhance the U.S. Air Force's Cloud One platform, partnering with AWS, Microsoft, Google, and Oracle to improve security and streamline operations over a five-year period.
