Mexican Army to Receive 24 Sikorsky UH-60M Black Hawk Helicopters
DEFENSE
The Mexican Army (SEDENA) finalized the acquisition of 24 Sikorsky UH-60M Black Hawk helicopters in December 2023 for approximately $1.95 billion USD. The helicopters will enhance capabilities in counter-narcotics, disaster relief, and internal security.
The U.S. State Department approved the sale under the foreign Military Sales (FMS) program, which includes training and maintenance support. Deliveries will occur from 2024 to 2026, with Sikorsky providing training for pilots and maintenance personnel. The helicopters will aid operations in remote areas, improve coordination among security forces, and support efforts against drug trafficking and organized crime.
