MG Launches Affordable MG 4X SUV in China with Innovative Battery Technology
MG's new MG 4X SUV, priced from €12,475, features a semi-solid battery technology aimed at enhancing market competitiveness in China. This model targets the growing compact electric SUV segment, challenging competitors like BYD Atto 3.

The MG 4X has been launched in China starting at €12,475 (99,800 RMB), aiming to penetrate the competitive compact SUV market. The vehicle offers two battery configurations: a 53.9 kWh semi-solid battery providing 510 km range and a 64.2 kWh LFP battery with 610 km range, both utilizing rear-wheel drive.
MG reported a 54.9% increase in domestic sales in Q1 2026, with the MG4 sedan leading. The MG 4X, designed on the electric Nebula platform, features a compact SUV design with a length of 4.5 meters and advanced driver assistance systems co-developed with Horizon Robotics.
The interior retains elements from the MG4 but lacks significant upgrades in rear passenger comfort. MG must improve material quality to compete effectively in Europe against established models like the Peugeot e-2008.
