MGEN Appoints New Leadership to Drive Energy Transition Initiatives
Meralco PowerGen Corp. (MGEN) has appointed Felino M. Bernardo as head of strategic energy transition projects, effective July 1, 2026. The company aims to double its power capacity to 10,346 megawatts by 2030, enhancing its generation project pipeline and focusing on nuclear and LNG developments.

Bernardo will lead strategic energy transition projects from July 1, 2026, to June 30, 2028, overseeing project management and development. His role includes managing key initiatives such as the Atimonan One Energy project and the Toledo expansion, along with nuclear studies and LNG initiatives.
Arnel L. Santos will succeed Mr. Bernardo as president and CEO of MGEN Thermal Energy, Inc., effective July 1. The leadership changes are part of MGEN's broader strategy to enhance operational capabilities and future growth.
