MGI Engineering Launches T-022 Vortex Autonomous Combat Aircraft
MGI Engineering has unveiled the T-022 Vortex, an autonomous combat aircraft aimed at the UK's Storm Fighter requirement. This platform is designed for manned-unmanned teaming, enhancing operational capabilities without the risk to pilots.

MGI Engineering Ltd has introduced the T-022 Vortex, a UK-built autonomous combat aircraft designed for manned-unmanned teaming (MUM-T). With a maximum take-off weight of 3,500 kg, it boasts a range exceeding 4,000 km and a top speed near Mach 0.85 (approximately 1,050 km/h).
The aircraft can carry up to 1,000 kg of payload across multiple weapon or sensor stations and is priced between £3 and £6 million per unit. The Vortex is engineered to operate independently in contested environments, enhancing the UK's Autonomous Collaborative Platforms initiative.
Its specifications include an altitude range of 20 to 12,000 meters and a cruise speed of Mach 0.71, making it suitable for diverse mission profiles. The T-022 Vortex joins MGI's existing platforms, providing scalable autonomous air capabilities.
