DEFENSE

The Mahatma Gandhi Institute for Rural Industrialization (MGIRI) provided solar-powered battery chargers used by the Indian Army during Operation Sindoor, according to Union Minister Shobha Karandlaje. The MGIRI, based in Wardha, aims to strengthen village industries through science and technology and has been instrumental in empowering local artisans and generating employment.

Karandlaje also highlighted the contribution of the Central Tool and Training Centre in Bhubaneswar, which supplied materials for ISRO's Chandrayaan project. During her visit, she laid the foundation for 'Vishwakarma Bhavan and Gandhi Heritage Path' at MGIRI, which includes the restoration of key heritage structures and the development of a museum and meditation center. The initiative seeks to enhance cultural and educational engagement with heritage sites linked to Gandhi.
