MHI and Mitsubishi Corporation Collaborate on Fertilizer Plant in Uzbekistan
Mitsubishi Heavy Industries and Mitsubishi Corporation are set to construct a large-scale fertilizer plant in Uzbekistan for Navoiyazat JSC. This project aims to utilize local natural gas resources, producing 2,000 mtpd of ammonia and 1,750 mtpd of urea, supporting Uzbekistan's economic growth and infrastructure modernization efforts.

Mitsubishi Heavy Industries (MHI) and Mitsubishi Corporation (MC) will build a fertilizer production facility in Navoiy, Uzbekistan, for Navoiyazat Joint Stock Company, leveraging local natural gas as feedstock. The plant will have a production capacity of 2,000 metric tons per day of ammonia and 1,750 metric tons per day of urea supergranules.
The project aligns with Uzbekistan's efforts to modernize infrastructure and contribute to economic growth, which has seen rates of 7-9% since 2004. MHI's experience in fertilizer plant development and MC's established relationships in Uzbekistan are key factors in this collaboration. The initiative may enhance fertilizer production capabilities in the region.
