On January 20, 2026, Michael A. Cogar, Deputy Assistant Secretary of War for Civilian Personnel Policy, toured Patch Elementary School located at Patch Barracks within U.S. Army Garrison Stuttgart.

This visit, guided by Department of Defense Education Activity-Europe East Superintendent Patrick Martin, was part of a broader inspection of various garrison facilities, including the Patch Child Development Center. USAG Stuttgart serves as a key overseas command and control platform for the Department of War, hosting two Unified Combatant Commands and three Service Component Commands across five installations.
