Microchip Technology Launches LX4580, a 24-Channel Mixed-Signal IC for Aviation and Defense Systems
Microchip Technology has introduced the LX4580, a highly integrated 24-channel mixed-signal IC aimed at enhancing actuation control systems for aviation and defense. The IC combines various functions into a single device, supporting applications such as More Electric Aircraft and drones. It features a compact design and includes capabilities for pressure and temperature sensing, motor control, and data acquisition, helping to reduce system complexity and weight.

Microchip Technology has launched the LX4580, a 24-channel mixed-signal integrated circuit designed for high-reliability actuation control systems in aviation and defense applications. This IC integrates multiple functions, including pressure sensing, temperature measurement, PWM motor drive outputs, current sensing, and dual high-speed SAR ADCs, into a single 144-pin package.
This design reduces system size, weight, and complexity, making it suitable for More Electric Aircraft, guided defense systems, and drones. The LX4580's architecture is optimized for mission-critical environments, providing fault tolerance and deterministic performance. Microchip is also offering an evaluation board and documentation to facilitate customer development and integration.
