Military Pension Board Chairman Visits Veteran Michael Etuwe to Honor His Service
Air Vice Marshal Mikail Abdulraheem, Chairman of the Military Pension Board (MPB), visited Master Warrant Officer Michael Etuwe in Masaka, Nasarawa State, to honor his distinguished service to Nigeria. Etuwe served as the orderly to General Murtala Ramat Mohammed, who was assassinated on February 13, 1976.
Abdulraheem recognized Etuwe as a witness to a pivotal moment in national history and emphasized the importance of honoring military veterans for their contributions to Nigeria's defense and stability. The visit was attended by representatives from various veterans' associations, who praised the MPB for its commitment to veterans' welfare. Additionally, Lieutenant-General Waidi Shaibu, Chief of Army Staff, urged troops of the 3 Division to maintain discipline and professionalism during an operational visit to their headquarters in Jos, highlighting the Army's role in national security.
