The MIMIT has initiated two funding programs: 'Investimenti sostenibili 4.0' with €448 million for innovative projects by SMEs in specific Italian regions, and 'Scoperta imprenditoriale II' with over €505 million for collaborative industrial research and development projects. These projects can involve expenses between €1 million and €5 million and focus on key enabling technologies relevant to the space sector.
As of 2024, Italy has attracted 242 greenfield projects, indicating a competitive investment climate compared to declining numbers in other European countries.
