Minister Conroy Inspects Kongsberg Missile Factory Progress in Williamtown, NSW
Minister for Defence Industry Pat Conroy and MP Meryl Swanson visited the Kongsberg Missile Factory in Williamtown, NSW, to review construction progress. The factory aims to establish a sovereign guided weapon manufacturing capability in Australia, with a focus on Naval Strike Missiles (NSM) and Joint Strike Missiles (JSM) for the Australian Defence Force. The project is expected to enhance local jobs and skills development while strengthening the industrial base and strategic cooperation between Australia and Norway.

The facility will produce Naval Strike Missiles (NSM) and Joint Strike Missiles (JSM) for the Australian Defence Force.
Kongsberg Defence Australia and Newcastle Airport emphasized the project's role in job creation and skills development. Multiplex Construction is executing the project, marking its first defence project in New South Wales, with a commitment to local employment and community engagement.
