Ministry of Earth Sciences and Puducherry Sign MoU to Enhance Blue Economy and Coastal Resilience
The Ministry of Earth Sciences and the Government of Puducherry signed a Memorandum of Understanding to advance marine research and blue economy initiatives. The five-year agreement focuses on sustainable marine fisheries, offshore wind energy, desalination technologies, ocean climate monitoring, coastal management, and marine spatial planning.

The Ministry of Earth Sciences (MoES) and the Puducherry Department of Science, Technology and Environment signed a Memorandum of Understanding in New Delhi to enhance marine research, infrastructure, and blue economy initiatives in Puducherry. The MoU, effective for five years, covers six strategic areas: sustainable marine fisheries, offshore wind energy, desalination technologies, ocean climate monitoring, permanent coastal management, and marine spatial planning. Nodal Officers and Joint Working Groups will be established to oversee projects, ensuring annual progress reviews.
