MIPI Alliance Launches Physical AI BoF for Humanoid Robotics Development
MIPI Alliance has initiated the Physical AI Birds of a Feather group to define interface requirements for humanoid robots. This initiative opens participation to both MIPI members and non-member companies in the physical AI sector, aiming to enhance the robotics industry's capabilities.
MIPI Alliance has launched the Physical AI BoF group to address interface requirements for humanoid robotics, inviting participation from both members and non-members. This group will assess existing MIPI specifications and explore opportunities for enhancements to support high sensor bandwidth, embedded computation, and low-power designs.
It aims to deliver formal recommendations on specification development to the MIPI Alliance board. The humanoid robot market is projected to grow at a CAGR of 56%, potentially exceeding $6 billion by 2030.
Standardized interfaces will be crucial for scaling humanoid robotics beyond custom lab solutions. Early participants include major companies such as Intel, Bosch, and LG Electronics.
