Mitsubishi Power Retrofits Darajat 3 Geothermal Plant to Increase Capacity
Mitsubishi Power Indonesia is retrofitting the Darajat 3 Geothermal Power Plant in Garut, West Java, managed by Star Energy Geothermal, increasing its capacity from 121 MW to 129 MW. This project is part of Mitsubishi's commitment to renewable energy and Indonesia's goal of achieving net zero emissions by 2060. The company also previously retrofitted the Lumut Balai Unit 2 geothermal plant, supplying a 55 MW power generation unit. Mitsubishi collaborates with local institutions on hydrogen and ammonia technology development.

Mitsubishi Power Indonesia is conducting a retrofit of the Darajat 3 Geothermal Power Plant in Garut, West Java, managed by Star Energy Geothermal, to increase its capacity from 121 MW to 129 MW. This initiative supports Indonesia's target of achieving net zero emissions by 2060.
Previously, Mitsubishi Power also retrofitted the Lumut Balai Unit 2 geothermal plant, providing a 55 MW power generation unit. The company acts as a technology provider and collaborates with local partners for project realization. It engages in R&D with Institut Teknologi Bandung and conducts joint studies with PT PLN (Persero) to support clean energy solutions, particularly in hydrogen and ammonia technology.
