Mnazi Bay Gas Project Creates 320 Jobs and 20 Billion TZS in Local Contracts
The Mnazi Bay drilling project in Tanzania is generating significant local economic impact, creating over 320 jobs and securing contracts exceeding 20 billion TZS for local companies. This initiative is crucial for enhancing natural gas production, improving energy availability, and boosting investor confidence in the region's petroleum sector.

The Mnazi Bay Block project, which commenced drilling on February 6, 2026, has created over 320 jobs and secured contracts worth more than 20 billion TZS for local firms. As of June 5, 2026, drilling of the production wells MB5 and MS2 has been completed, while the exploration well KASA-1X is ongoing.
The MB5 well has increased natural gas output by approximately 40 million cubic feet per day, supporting electricity generation and other uses. The completion of this project will raise the total number of drilled oil and gas wells in Tanzania to 99. This development may enhance local supply chains and further attract investment in the country's petroleum industry.
