Moheshkhali LNG Terminal Resumes Operations After Six-Hour Outage
The Moheshkhali LNG terminal has resumed gas supply after a six-hour outage, alleviating pressure on consumers facing low gas availability. The disruption, caused by a technical fault, resulted in a loss of approximately 400 million cubic feet per day, impacting several regions serviced by Titas Gas Transmission and Distribution.

Gas supply from the Moheshkhali LNG terminal resumed at noon following a six-hour interruption due to a technical fault. This outage reduced the supply by about 400 million cubic feet per day, aggravating low-pressure conditions in areas like Gazaria, Meghnaghat, Sonargaon, Narayanganj, and southern Dhaka.
Titas Gas Transmission and Distribution Company Limited issued warnings about ongoing low pressure in these regions. The terminal, operated by Excelerate Energy, is crucial for Bangladesh's energy supply, particularly during peak demand seasons.
It has a regasification capacity of 500 million standard cubic feet per day, with imports vital for offsetting declining domestic output. The recovery of gas pressure may take time despite the terminal's return to service.
