Montenegro Plans LNG Terminal Feasibility Study with Japan's JERA by June 2026
Montenegro's Prime Minister Milojko Spajić announced that a feasibility study for a liquefied natural gas (LNG) terminal and gas power plant, in collaboration with Japan's JERA, is set to be completed by June 2026. The study will evaluate the project's technical, commercial, and financial viability, following a memorandum of understanding signed in September 2023. This initiative aims to bolster Montenegro's energy security and contribute to regional energy efforts.

Montenegro's Prime Minister Milojko Spajić announced that a feasibility study for a potential liquefied natural gas (LNG) terminal and gas power plant is expected to be completed by the end of June 2026. This study will assess the technical, commercial, and financial viability of the project.
Spajić met with representatives from Japan's JERA at the World Economic Forum in Davos, building on a memorandum of understanding signed in Milan in September 2023. The partnership aims to enhance Montenegro's energy security and support regional energy initiatives.
