Morgan City Council Approves $4 Million Bid for Pool Construction and Natural Gas System Upgrade
The Morgan City Council approved bids totaling approximately $4 million for a swimming pool and natural gas system upgrade. GW Oliver Aquatics won the pool bid at $1,367,000, while Norris & Boudreaux Contractors secured the gas system upgrade at $2,600,135.97. The pool will be built near the tennis courts, featuring an L-shaped design suitable for competitions. Construction is set to begin next month with a 120-day timeline. Funding includes a $6.9 million federal grant for the gas system upgrade.

The Morgan City Council approved a total of about $4 million for two projects: a swimming pool and an upgrade to the natural gas distribution system. GW Oliver Aquatics from Baton Rouge was awarded the pool construction bid at $1,367,000.
The pool will be built next to the tennis courts and designed for public use and competitions. Construction is expected to begin next month and complete by August. Norris & Boudreaux Contractors secured the natural gas upgrade bid at $2,600,135.97, funded by a $6.9 million federal grant. The upgrade involves replacing PVC lines with polyethylene pipe for better flexibility and pressure resistance.
