Moroccan Royal Navy Patrol Vessel Moulay El Hassan I Completes Trials
The Moroccan Royal Navy's Avante 1800-class patrol vessel, Moulay El Hassan I, has completed sea trials and returned to Cadiz. This vessel, built by Navantia, represents Morocco's largest military order from Spain, valued at 130 million euros.

The Moulay El Hassan I, an Avante 1800-class patrol vessel measuring 87 meters long and 13 meters wide, has returned to the Cadiz shipyard after completing technical sea trials. The construction began with steel cutting in July 2023, followed by keel laying in September 2024, with delivery to the Moroccan Royal Navy expected in 2025.
The vessel is designed to accommodate around 60 crew members and has a total estimated cost of 130 million euros, marking a significant military procurement for Morocco from Spain. This acquisition could enhance Morocco's naval capabilities in the region.
