Morocco Advances Regional Port Infrastructure with New Developments
Morocco is investing significantly in its port infrastructure, aiming to enhance trade efficiency and spur economic growth. The Stratégie Nationale Portuaire 2030 includes the development of multiple new ports and upgrades to existing facilities, facilitating greater trade capacity and regional industrial development.

Morocco's port expansion includes plans for five new ports under the Stratégie Nationale Portuaire 2030. Notably, the deepwater Nador West Med port is set for completion in 2019-2020 with significant funding from the African Development Bank and other institutions.
Additionally, the Kenitra Atlantique port is anticipated to open in 2019, coinciding with the Peugeot-Citroën factory launch. The Safi port project is already 22% complete, focusing initially on phosphate exports.
Ongoing efforts at Jorf Lasfar aim for a 2019 launch, with a focus on liquefied natural gas. These developments build on the success of the Tanger-Med port, which enhances Morocco's logistics and trade capabilities.
