Morocco Expands National Weather Network with 433 Automatic Stations and 44 Centers
Morocco has significantly expanded its weather observation network to include 433 automatic measurement stations across 44 regional centers, enhancing its ability to issue warnings for extreme weather. The national system also includes 8 weather radars, 5 radiosonde stations, and advanced meteorological satellites. This infrastructure, managed through a secure online system, aims to improve data reliability for better decision-making in sectors like agriculture and transport.

This infrastructure is operated through an online data center adhering to international standards, ensuring secure and reliable meteorological data processing. The integration of ground station data, satellites, and advanced computing aims to improve the accuracy of weather forecasts. The World Meteorological Day is celebrated on March 23 each year, marking the establishment of the World Meteorological Organization in 1950.
