Morocco has launched the Solar Rooftop 500 program, targeting the deployment of 500 megawatts of rooftop solar capacity for industrial and commercial enterprises. The program, launched in Casablanca, is a collaboration with Switzerland and operates under the Paris Agreement's Article 6.2.

It focuses on new photovoltaic installations, providing immediate carbon revenue benefits to participating companies. The initiative is backed by $500 million in funding, with potential to create approximately 15,000 jobs. The program aligns with Morocco's goal to source over 52% of its electricity capacity from renewables by 2030.
