MoU Signed for Advanced Japanese Rice Cultivation Technology in Mekong Delta
On March 3, the National Agricultural Promotion Centre, Loc Troi Group, and Japan's Newgreen Co., Ltd. signed an MoU to implement advanced Japanese technology for low-emission rice cultivation in the Mekong Delta. JICA is backing Newgreen's initiative utilizing Aigamo Robot technology to enhance rice farming practices. This robot reduces weed growth and methane emissions while promoting sustainable agricultural practices. The collaboration aims to improve productivity and support Vietnam's commitment to sustainable rice cultivation by 2030.

On March 3, the National Agricultural Promotion Centre, Loc Troi Group, and Japan's Newgreen Co., Ltd. signed an MoU for cooperation on advanced Japanese technology in low-emission rice cultivation in the Mekong Delta. Supported by JICA, Newgreen's project focuses on Aigamo Robot technology, which combats weeds without chemicals.
The robot is solar-powered and navigates autonomously, reducing costs and environmental impact while promoting aerobic bacteria growth to cut methane emissions. Vietnam aims for sustainable rice cultivation across 1 million hectares by 2030. The MoU outlines joint research and technology dissemination to enhance rice farming sustainability.
