MP Directs Completion of PNG Pipeline Works in Udupi by June
Kota Srinivas Poojary has mandated the expedited completion of piped natural gas works in Udupi, aiming for June delivery. The project, affecting approximately 35,000 households, has faced delays over the past decade, with only 1,500 homes connected thus far.

Kota Srinivas Poojary has instructed Adani Total Gas Limited (ATGL) to complete the piped natural gas (PNG) project in Udupi by June, addressing delays in its decade-long implementation. Currently, pipeline connectivity has been established for around 1,500 households within a target of 35,000 in the municipal limits.
The MP also highlighted the inadequate supply of Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) for vehicles, particularly affecting auto-rickshaw drivers, and called for four more jumbo vehicles to alleviate shortages. Attendees at the review meeting included officials from GAIL and CNG distributors, with discussions on enhancing public awareness for PNG applications and the need for more technicians at CNG stations. The operational mother station at Panambur is set to finish by the end of May, pending approval from the Petroleum and Explosives Safety Organisation (PESO).
