MTC White Paper Advocates Robotics Adoption in UK Based on Global Lessons
The Manufacturing Technology Centre (MTC) has issued a White Paper suggesting that the UK should adopt strategies from the Odense Robotics Hub in Denmark to enhance the use of robots and autonomous systems. It emphasizes the need for a national action plan to align government initiatives, establish robotics clusters, and speed up technology adoption, ultimately aiming to boost productivity and investor confidence.

The MTC's White Paper highlights the need for the UK to learn from international examples, specifically the Odense Robotics Hub in Denmark, to improve its adoption of robots and autonomous systems (RAS). The report advocates for a UK-wide action plan to synchronize government efforts in adoption, standards, and technology translation.
It proposes creating robotics clusters as neutral proving grounds to facilitate quicker deployment of technologies. The MTC emphasizes that clear support and testing environments will increase business confidence in robotics adoption, thereby enhancing productivity and reducing costs across the UK.
