Mubadala Energy's Natural Gas Output at 70%, Expands into US Market and Southeast Asia
Natural gas constitutes approximately 70% of Mubadala Energy's production portfolio. The company's COO, Adnan Bu Fateem, stated that 2025 is a pivotal year for international expansion, marking entry into the US market and progress on strategic gas projects in Southeast Asia.
Mubadala Energy emphasizes natural gas for its lower emissions compared to carbon-intensive sources. The company has invested in the Caturus natural gas and LNG portfolio in the US, enhancing its presence in major energy markets alongside assets in the Middle East, Southeast Asia, Russia, and the US.
Progress includes developments at the Tangkulo gas field in Indonesia and stable production from the Pegaga project in Malaysia. Additionally, the company has reduced Scope 1 and 2 greenhouse gas emissions by 36.5%, benefiting over one million people through its community programs in the last decade.
