Murtazali Murtazaliev, Convicted in Airport Riots, Killed in Military Operation
Murtazali Murtazaliev, convicted for his role in the Makhachkala airport riots, was killed during a military operation after signing a contract with the Ministry of Defense. Sentenced to eight years in prison in January 2025, he was 30 years old at the time of his death on September 30, 2025. His widow, Emilia, claimed he was at the airport searching for his brother, and they were only notified of his body’s evacuation on December 31, 2025.

Murtazali Murtazaliev, a participant in the 'airport case,' was killed in a military operation after signing a contract with the Ministry of Defense following his conviction. Murtazaliev was sentenced to eight years in prison by the Kochubeevsky District Court of Stavropol Krai on January 22, 2025, for participating in riots at Makhachkala airport.
His widow, Emilia, stated he was merely searching for his brother at the airport. At least seven other defendants in the case also signed contracts for military service. Murtazaliev, who was 30 years old at the time of his death on September 30, 2025, was buried in Shamkhal village on January 13, 2026. Emilia reported that they were only informed of the body’s evacuation on December 31, 2025.
