This influx occurs as the junta seeks to stimulate foreign investment amid ongoing political and economic turmoil.

Myanmar attracted US$337.9 million in foreign investment from April to December 2025, with manufacturing receiving US$190.5 million. Other sectors included transport and communications at US$81.4 million, energy at US$35.3 million, oil and natural gas at US$25 million, livestock and fisheries at US$2.5 million, and services at US$3.1 million. This data comes as Myanmar's junta attempts to revive foreign investment during ongoing political and economic challenges.
