Myanmar Naval Dockyard Commissions Frigate King Thalun and Four Riverine Combat Vessels
The Myanmar Navy commissioned the Frigate King Thalun and four riverine combat vessels during a ceremony at the Naval Dockyard Command. The event coincided with the launch of a new 40,000-tonne dry dock and the keel-laying for two submarine destroyers. The Senior General emphasized the dry dock's role in enhancing national defense and maritime capabilities. The commissioning of the frigate marks a significant achievement in Myanmar’s shipbuilding history, with over 270 hours of sea trials completed prior to its commissioning.

Senior General Min Aung Hlaing attended the event, highlighting the dry dock's capacity to build and repair both military and civilian vessels.
The frigate, the largest domestically constructed warship, underwent over 270 hours of sea trials before commissioning. The dry dock supports the navy's operational capabilities and aims to enhance national security and maritime interests.
