Namibia's Joint Surveillance Facility Enhances National Security Amid Rising Cyber Threats
Namibia's Minister of Information and Communication Technology, Emma Theofelus, announced the establishment of a joint surveillance facility between the Ministries of ICT and Defence to enhance national security amid rising cyber threats, which include over two million annual cyber attacks. The facility, which monitors the nation's waters and airspace, is part of a modernization effort and emphasizes the need for trained cyber defense specialists. Renovations are underway, with the facility set to be inaugurated soon to strengthen the country's digital infrastructure and inter-ministerial cooperation.
