National Grid and Space Solar Launch Wireless Power Transmission Project in the UK
National Grid Electricity Distribution has initiated the Wireless Power Transmission Project to explore using high-powered radio waves for electricity transmission, potentially enhancing existing power grids. The project partners with UK-based Space Solar, which is researching the possibility of beaming solar power from satellites back to Earth.

National Grid Electricity Distribution (NGED) has launched the Wireless Power Transmission Project to investigate the use of high-powered radio waves for transmitting electricity over distances, potentially supplementing or replacing traditional overhead wires. NGED is collaborating with Space Solar, a UK firm that aims to develop technology for beaming solar power captured in space back to Earth. The initiative seeks to address the growing electricity infrastructure needs as energy demand increases.
