NATO DIANA Acceleration Site Opening Ceremony in Latvia Scheduled for January 22
NATO will host an opening ceremony for its DIANA acceleration site, UniLab Defence, in Latvia on January 22, featuring key officials including Defense Minister Andris Spruds and Foreign Minister Baiba Braze. This marks Latvia's inaugural participation in the NATO DIANA program, which has admitted six local startups, including Deep Space Energy, that will continue its focus on resilient electricity supply in space through scalable radioisotope systems.

On January 22, NATO will hold an opening ceremony for its DIANA acceleration site, UniLab Defence, in Latvia. The event will feature Defense Minister Andris Spruds, Foreign Minister Baiba Braze, and the Canadian Ambassador.
Latvia is participating in the NATO DIANA program for the first time, with six out of 150 startups admitted in 2026 based in the country. Latvian startup Deep Space Energy has received support from the program and will continue its acceleration in Poland, focusing on resilient electricity supply in space using scalable radioisotope systems.
