NATO DIANA Awards First R&D Contract to HonuWorx for Undersea Robotics
NATO DIANA has awarded its first R&D contract to HonuWorx for enhancing undersea robotics, aimed at operational deployment. This initiative aligns with NATO's Rapid Adoption Service objectives to expedite technology adoption among member nations.

NATO's Defence Innovation Accelerator for the North Atlantic (DIANA) has awarded a research and development contract to HonuWorx, a UK company specializing in undersea robotics, marking the first such contract for a NATO Ally under the Rapid Adoption Service. HonuWorx will conduct an engineering study to enhance the operating depth of its systems, developing a simulation suite to demonstrate operational capabilities and mitigate technical risks.
This contract supports Canada's defense research and aims to improve deepwater infrastructure operations through innovative technology. The Rapid Adoption Service framework allows for streamlined co-development and deployment of technologies, enhancing NATO's ability to respond to capability needs within a 24-month timeline as outlined in the Rapid Adoption Action Plan from the 2025 Hague Summit.
