Natura Resources Achieves 1,000 Hours with Molten Salt Test System for Reactor Development
Natura Resources has successfully operated its Molten Salt Test System for 1,000 hours, validating the continuous operation of molten salt loops essential for advanced reactor technology. This milestone is significant for the development of commercial-scale molten salt reactors and enhances the understanding of materials performance and safety.

Natura Resources LLC has completed 1,000 hours of operation of its Molten Salt Test System, crucial for validating molten salt reactor technology. The process included purifying 50 gallons of molten salt over 270 hours and successfully operating a flowing salt loop that simulates reactor conditions.
During the test, over 750 hours were monitored remotely while the system operated autonomously. Key features such as the ability to execute controlled shutdowns were also tested, demonstrating the safety of MSR technology. Future plans involve enhancing monitoring systems to support further materials testing and regulatory compliance, which could impact the timeline for commercial reactor deployment.
