Navantia and KNS Sign Framework Agreement for F-310 Frigates Support
Navantia and Kongsberg Naval Services (KNS) have signed a long-term framework agreement for the F-310 frigate class, enhancing support and modernization efforts. This deal, formalized on May 13, 2026, strengthens Spain-Norway industrial collaboration in naval defense.

On May 13, 2026, Navantia and Kongsberg Naval Services (KNS) established a framework agreement to provide maintenance and modernization for the Royal Norwegian Navy's F-310 Fridtjof Nansen-class frigates. KNS will serve as the main contractor, while Navantia, as the original equipment manufacturer, will deliver design and engineering services.
This agreement marks the third contract for Navantia in Norway related to the Nansen class, following previous contracts initiated in 2013 and 2023. The Fridtjof Nansen-class includes five ships, each 134 m long and displacing 4,600 tonnes, capable of anti-surface, anti-submarine, and anti-aircraft operations. The ongoing collaboration highlights the Norwegian Ministry of Defence's confidence in Navantia as a key partner for frigate sustainment and modernization.
