NAVFAC MIDLANT Names 2026 Engineers of the Year: Lt. Cmdr. Male and Robert Delgado-Navarro
NAVFAC MIDLANT has named Lt. Cmdr. Benjamin Male as Military Engineer of the Year and Robert Delgado-Navarro as Civilian Engineer of the Year for 2026. Male, serving as the Public Works Officer at Naval Weapons Station Earle, has overseen a $4.7 billion installation and will compete for the NSPE Federal Engineer of the Year Award, while Delgado-Navarro, the Design Director at Naval Station Great Lakes, has managed over $158 million in Navy infrastructure projects. Both have exhibited outstanding leadership and technical expertise, significantly impacting their commands and the Navy's mission.

NAVFAC MIDLANT recognized Lt. Cmdr. Benjamin Male as Military Engineer of the Year and Robert Delgado-Navarro as Civilian Engineer of the Year for 2026.
Male, the Public Works Officer at Naval Weapons Station Earle, will compete for the NSPE Federal Engineer of the Year Award. Since 2023, he has overseen a team managing a $4.7 billion installation and led significant hiring reforms and modernization projects.
Delgado-Navarro, Design Director at Naval Station Great Lakes, has facilitated over $158 million in Navy infrastructure projects, including a $27 million emergency repair for a water treatment plant and a $120 million demolition project. Both engineers have demonstrated exceptional leadership and technical skills, contributing significantly to their respective commands and the Navy's mission.
