Navy Free Wi-Fi Program Expands to Italy and Greece
The Navy's free Wi-Fi initiative for unaccompanied housing is 86% complete, now operational in 827 of 952 buildings. Launched in November 2025, the program aims to improve Sailor connectivity and quality of life, achieving an 84% satisfaction rate among users.

As of April 1, 2026, the Navy's free high-speed Wi-Fi program has successfully launched at Naval Support Activity Naples, Naval Air Station Sigonella, and NSA Souda Bay, marking significant progress in its rollout. The initiative, a collaboration between Commander, Navy Installations Command and the Navy Exchange Service Command, has seen 70.5% of residents in available buildings register for the service.
The program aims to achieve full coverage by early 2027 and complies with the Military Honor and Decency Act of 1996, providing both filtered Wi-Fi and options for speed upgrades. The Navy reports a smooth rollout, with minor connection issues addressed promptly. Continued resident satisfaction indicates the program's effectiveness in enhancing Sailor well-being.
