NEO Battery Materials Partners with KOIDI to Enter South Korean Defense Industry in 2026
NEO Battery Materials is set to enter the South Korean defense industry in 2026 with a partnership with the Korea Institute for Defense Industry (KOIDI). This partnership will establish a joint task force focused on defense drones and unmanned applications, utilizing NEO's silicon-enhanced batteries.
NEO's technology offers up to 10 times the capacity of graphite anodes and can reduce production costs by up to 60%. The company has secured a long-term lease for a ready-to-operate factory in South Korea to begin mass production.
NEO has already secured orders from various sectors, including a multimillion-dollar deal with an Asian drone manufacturer and a development agreement with a South Korean industrial robotics firm. Additionally, NEO is testing its batteries with a Fortune 500 North American automotive manufacturer. Despite challenges in 2025, the commercialization of NEO's technology is expected to drive revenue growth.
