Nestlé Launches Biomass Boiler Facility in Cabuyao for Sustainable Energy
Nestlé Philippines has inaugurated a biomass boiler facility in Cabuyao, Laguna, utilizing local agricultural waste to power milk production. This initiative supports the company's net-zero emissions goal by 2050 and addresses energy price volatility.

Nestlé Philippines has officially launched a biomass boiler facility at its manufacturing site in Cabuyao, Laguna, aimed at enhancing sustainability and energy independence. This facility utilizes local agricultural waste to power the energy-intensive spray drying process for milk production.
Additionally, Nestlé operates a similar facility in Cagayan de Oro for coffee production. The initiative is part of a broader strategy to achieve net-zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2050 and enhances resilience against fluctuating fuel prices.
The biomass project, developed in collaboration with Berkeley Energy Commercial Industrial Solutions, also creates value for local agricultural communities. Furthermore, the company sources renewable energy from hydroelectric and geothermal sources for its operations. The shift to biomass energy not only reduces emissions but positions Nestlé favorably within future carbon regulation frameworks.
