Netherlands MoD Considers Multi-Billion-Dollar ACSV Contract for Van Halteren Technologies
The Dutch Ministry of Defence is considering a multi-billion-dollar contract with Bunschoten-based Van Halteren Technologies for around 400 armored combat support vehicles (ACSVs) for the Royal Netherlands Army. Van Halteren is reportedly the front-runner among 20 competing firms.
The ACSV fleet aims to enhance operational support in transport, logistics, maintenance, and recovery, with potential specialized variants. Deliveries are anticipated between 2029 and 2031. The firm has a history of supplying components for major platforms including the CV90 and Leopard 2.
Van Halteren is also seeking to participate in constructing four Orka-class submarines with France's Naval Group. This contract reflects the Netherlands' commitment to bolster its defense industry and meet NATO's 2% GDP defense spending goal.
