Neuchâtel Offers Financial Support for Solar Battery Installations
The Canton of Neuchâtel is providing financial incentives for the installation of batteries to store electricity from solar panels, effective March 1. The support includes 800 francs per device and an additional 80 francs per kilowatt-hour of storage capacity. This initiative aims to boost local solar electricity self-consumption and enhance renewable energy supply in the canton.

Starting March 1, the Canton of Neuchâtel will offer financial support of 800 francs per battery installation, along with 80 francs per kilowatt-hour of storage capacity for solar energy systems. This initiative aims to increase self-consumption of locally produced solar electricity, contributing to the region's renewable energy supply.
The subsidies cover approximately 15 to 20% of the acquisition cost for an average installation of 12 kWh, adequate for a household of four. The program also seeks to sustain solar growth amid decreasing feed-in tariffs and allows homeowners to store excess electricity for nighttime use, while also providing backup power during outages.
